It's easy to let the late-winter blahs affect our view of things. By early March, our world seems to have faded listlessly to drab shades of black, white, and gray. Many of us seem to have lost an appreciation of the variety on view around us. Our perspective needs to be refreshed, and we need to be reminded to march forth and to view all of the variety around us. By refreshing our view of the world, we are also revitalizing our approach to everyday life. A new appreciation of the world's colors will allow us to reenergize ourselves and to grab a new perspective on everything else. The grand vistas surrounding us serve as reminders to keep marching forth and to keep taking on new and exciting challenges. Thursday, March 4, 2010, is a wonderful day for each of us to once more renew our perspective on everything. After all, it’s Exalano Day!
Exalano Day was created many years ago as a unique holiday where we are all called upon to march forth from our daily routine and do something new and different. The annual call to celebrate Exalano Day has been issued in each of the last thirty-four years by the Exalano Day Committee (the EDC), a very, very small group of people on a mission to remind everyone that the world is a colorful place and that we all should march forth to enjoy it. The word 'Exalano' comes from the Greek word meaning 'to march forth', and hence it is a natural idea to declare that the fourth day of March should be called Exalano Day. On this most unique holiday, the Exalano Day Committee declares that everyine should march forth and take on a new perspective on the word - by doing something you want to do, something new, something exciting.
On Thursday, March 4, 2010, all of us should add to the colors of the world by marching forth and celebrating Exalano Day.
